This presentation took a look at waste management in Brazil. The presenters gave an introduction to the new law - Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS) 12.305 - which was effective August 2014. The National Solid Waste Policy in Brazil established principles, objectives, instruments, and guidelines for management and solid waste management, the responsibilities of generators, the government, and consumers as well as the applicable economic instruments.
They also discussed the market panorama for:
• Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)
• Petroleum Coke
• Coal
• E-Waste
In addition, the seminar detailed the best practices in doing business in Brazil in the waste sector.
