- Abstract
- The current image shows our research project in the slums of Bogotá, Colombia in 2019. These areas are generally known as slums and are places where the government has no power or presence. Therefore, guerrillas and gangs dominate the slums creating fear among the inhabitants of using public space and living as a community. Faced with this, we wonder if it is possible to create an architecture capable of regenerating the environment, reducing social conflicts and promoting a meeting space for the community. In response, we come to the proposal of a unique park (center of the image), built for and with the community where children, adolescents and the elderly can be together. The image shows the aerial view of the park after construction, which has transformed the social and urban fabric on the outskirts of the city into a vivid space with reduced violence.
