I'm submitting an image of my dog, Baxter, who was with me at one of the sites I write about in my research, Bellefontaine cemetery in St. Louis MO. I don't have a human research assistant, but Baxter is my constant companion. He's always gone with me on trips, broken the ice at interviews, been a conversation starter when I needed to connect to a new community, and kept me from being too lonely or giving up. He's the best asset for research I could have.
