"""To explore the rich ancient architecture of India Jain temples, I recently visited Jaisalmer, Rajasthan which is also known as The Golden City (as the complete city is made up of sandstone and in daytime complete city shines like gold). During my visit, I saw many interesting places with beautiful architecture and rich culture which include Jaisalmer forts, Havelis, Temples. Out of all the interesting places, the place which astonished me most was Lodurva Jain temple. Lodurva (an ancient capital of the Bhatti dynasty) is a village located 15km from Jaisalmer. During 11th Century AD, the city faced large destruction due to Islamic invaders, but the temple remained intact with no harm and still have splendid view & architecture. The temple is dedicated to 23rd Tirthankara Parshvanath. The idol of Parshvanath is made of black kasauti stone (stone which is used to test the purity of gold) and there are 100 snakes carved in the shape of the huge hood behind the idol whereas the temple is made with bright sandstones and have beautiful jali works. The arches at the main entrance are similar to the Dilwara style of temple architecture. The other structure in the temple includes Gargoyle, Kalpavriksh."""
