Abstract
The PEARC19 Rise of the Machines (Learning) conference was held July 28-August 1, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The third annual Practice & Experience in Advanced Research Computing (PEARC) conference explored current practices and experiences in advanced research computing, including modeling, simulation, and data-intensive computing. Primary foci of the conference were machine learning and artificial intelligence, both of which are proving to be disruptive technologies in a diverse range of scientific
fields, from materials science to medicine. This report summarizes results from the PEARC19 evaluation activities.
