Abstract
The purpose of this document is to document and reflect on the work performed over the period of September 2018 through April 2019 as an advocate planner working alongside Eco-Justice Collaborative as part of the campaign to protect the Middle Fork Vermilion River, surrounding areas, and nearby communities from the threat posed by coal ash stored in the floodplain at the now closed Vermilion Power Station. The central focus of this document is to report on the public outreach and engagement strategy employed by the campaign over this period so that it may serve as a case study for environmental justice advocates.
