Abstract
The purpose of this report is to examine local governments' perception and implementation of sustainable development principles, especially in new real estate development, through analysis of a set of Request for Proposals (RFPs) for development issued by the cities around the Bay Area in California. Best practices for RFPs are outlined which can lead to the most sustainable development.
