Abstract
Oman is taking remarkable steps to develop its logistics sector to be one of the main pillars of the nation's non-oil based economy in the future. The impact of the global economic downturn caused by low oil prices has pushed Gulf States including Oman to look beyond the existing oil based economy. This research utilizes an augmented form of the Gravity Model of Trade developed by Tinbergen in 1962 to better understand the past trend of Omani non-oil exports and re-exports and estimate future growth.
