Abstract
Champaign County has the goal of institutionalizing a welcoming philosophy to make immigrant integration a process that benefits both immigrants and the receiving community. This report documents the first year of an initiative aimed at that goal: the New American Welcome Center (NAWC), established by the University YMCA in the city of Champaign. NAWC has established itself as a space for immigrants, advocates, immigrant-serving organizations, and local government agencies to connect and collaborate.
