This visualization presents a big survey dataset and includes 3 dashboards. The original dataset, provided by the MSL (Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership), gathered over 600 leadership-related measurements from over 7000 students from the Big 10 universities.
The first dashboard displays the demographic information of all individuals.
The second dashboard visualizes the 13 core scales. Each scale is visualized in three different sorted ways, group by gender, group by class year, and group by race, so you can easily compare how different groups perform on the same scale. In each informative bar, the gradient diverging orange-blue colors represent low scores to high scores, from left to right; Average score and number total individuals are shown in the middle grey circle.
The third dashboard visualizes 10 custom multi-choice questions. Under a selected question, each choice is visualized by two bars. The left bar includes all individuals while the right bar only includes customized filtered individuals, so you easily compare a specific group you are interested in with the total.
This visualization turns the original dataset to an intuitive, efficiently-informative, and easily-understandable presentation. It utilized question-selectors, filters, colorful charts, organized comparison to allow researchers to explore what they’re interested in.
