Applied anthropology is the use of anthropological methods, ideas, and skills to help others by contributing to a better understanding and solution of pressing social issues. This course presents students with an array of case studies in which applied anthropology made a difference, while workshopping multiple methods of data gathering and presentation. There is an emphasis on ethics and cultural representation, as well as on global mobilities. Students acquire a set of skills and learn how these methods and tools of analysis can be applied in different careers.
