In searching for a position in the academia, salary could be a criterion for candidates in choosing which colleges to apply for and work in. In order to provide an overview of salary variation across the campuses in the University of Illinois (UI) system, this project surveys the 2013-2017 salary distribution of faculty members from different departments in the three campuses of UI, namely Chicago, Springfield, and Urbana-Champaign. By using interactive bar charts, pie charts, line graphs, and box plots, the ranges and changes of salary at different academic positions and departments across the campuses and over the five years are revealed. Based on the results, postgraduate students seeking for jobs and faculty members looking for mobility can have their career planned accordingly.
