Abstract

Rewriting the Green Garden Township Comprehensive Plan was a process that began in Spring 2016. The township's chief goal in this rewrite was to more cohesively deal with encroaching development pressures from the north and east, primarily from Frankfort, IL (to the north), and Monee/Interstate 57 (to the east). The ultimate plan took this, and many other developing issues into account, to create a document that is more flexible and user-friendly than the 2002 plan. It re-affirms the general vision of the 2002 plan, and will hopefully be a long-lasting platform for the residents of Green Garden Township to express their wishes for how their township gets developed. The basis for much of this revised Comprehensive Plan came from the 2016 Survey of the Green Garden Township Electors.
