Abstract
The UIUC campus plays host to a club called 3V. They define themselves as a concert goers club and welcome all music lovers. However, the club plays a special role in the growing and changing of the music scene around the UIUC campus. The leaders of the club utilize professional connections at a local music club called The Canopy Club to assist club goers, who are also music artists, with exposure. Like the artists in the club, the leaders are also new to the music scene in the sense that they are new to the idea of one day producing music. In the meantime they assist artists and help them to better their stage presence, professionalism, and obtain connections. The 3V club is the medium by which they reach out to the music community. This audio presentation is a summary of their involvement in the music scene, their information behaviors, and their attempts at creating a bigger, better, and more exciting music culture around the UIUC campus.
